Easy Painted Christmas Bulbs

This holiday season, make your own beautiful ornaments for your Christmas tree. To add a personal touch, choose from a variety of colors. These bulbs can decorate the tree year after year and will create long lasting memories for you and your children.

Supplies:

  • Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic Paints or Delta Ceramcoat Gleams: 3 or 4 colors
  • Clear glass or plastic ornaments
  • Paper cups or empty egg cartons

Directions:

  1. Remove hanger and cap from the ornament. Rinse inside of ornament with a mixture of 1 part vinegar, 3 parts water before adding paint. Let dry. Start with one color of Ceramcoat paint. Squeeze just a small amount of the first color into the ornament so it runs down the side. Rotate the ornament and squeeze a little more paint down the side in another area until you have added about three or four lines of paint with only a dime-size amount of paint pooling at the bottom of the ornament.
  2. Add the next color, squeezing out a small amount of paint in between the places where you added the first color. Continue to add one or two more colors in the same fashion.
  3. Rest the ornament on its side for approximately five minutes. (Place it to rest in the ornament box it came in, an egg carton or a paper cup for easy handling.) Rotate and tilt the ornament a quarter turn every five to ten minutes until the paint covers the entire inside of the ornament. Pour out excess paint. Then continue to rotate it every few hours over the ...

Ruby Red and Glittering Gold - Adding Color to Your Holiday Table

...

‘Tis the Season for entertaining. Spice up your gatherings with brilliant colors this season.

Glittering gold emits elegance. Set your table with gold, beaded placemats or gold charger plates. Paired with simple white dishes, this combination is sophisticated without being too showy.

Tie a cream colored rose around your napkins in place of napkin rings. Create a centerpiece with the same cream-colored roses mounding in a gold bowl. Don’t forget candles. Creamy votive candles sprinkled around the table will give your table a soft, warm glow.

If you’re looking to add a real punch to your table this holiday season, think red. Ruby red signifies Christmas and reminds us of good old Saint Nick’s attire.

A vibrant red will add cheer and excitement to your holiday table. Decorate your table with red glass vases filled with white poinsettias. For ambiance, use candle holders with red accents and top with rich red candles. Don’t go overboard! Use a textured, red table runner rather than a full tablecloth. To break up the red, use white dishes topped with deep red, linen napkins.

Whether red or gold, these colors will add pizzazz to any holiday table.
